Burts Bees Scrub, Peach and Willow Bark Deep Pore Scrub Review

Jasmine’s Cystic Acne Success Story Using Burts Bees Scrub
Jasmine is a cystic acne sufferer who had tried many other products during the four years before she found Burt’s Bees Peach and Willow Bark Deep Pore Scrub – she reports that everyone she knows was complimenting her on the amazing improvement in her skin after just two weeks of use!

Jasmine has really oily skin but it is very sensitive too so products containing Benzoyl Peroxide caused her a lot of problems with burning skin and even more breakouts. However, despite the fact that she states in her product review of this Willow Bark Scrub, “this product has worked miracles for my skin”, she really didn’t like it at all the first time she tried it!

She reports that when she used it on her skin for the first time, “it made my face feel like a grease pit” but this greasy feeling was soon remedied by thorough rinsing and drying with a towel. She goes on to say that the product restores the natural balance of moisture in the skin and recommends applying only a light, oil-free moisturiser after use.

Jasmine has used this product with great success on her acne

Jasmine noticed an improvement in her acne from the very next morning, she says “ALL of my acne started to diminish, I couldn’t believe it!” She kept on using the scrub regularly, every day for two weeks after which time her acne, “…(even the cystic ones) was almost completely gone”

Jasmine goes on to say that this is the only product that she has found success with and recommends that you use the product regularly every single day. You can read Jasmine’s full review here.

Burts Bees ScrubThis is a naturally sulphate-free cleanser which incorporates very finely ground peach stone to genly exfoliate, removing the excess oil and pore clogging dead skin debris to leave your skin feeling beautifully soft and with a smoother texture.

It contains Willow Bark extract which is a source of naturally occurring Beta Hydroxy Acids to gently exfoliate, unblock pores and clear and cleanse your complexion. Blocked pores are what causes blackheads and form a breeding ground for acne bacteria. Salicylic Acid, an ingredient found in many prescription acne treatments is found naturally in willow bark, so if you care about putting naturally derived products on your skin, this is another reason to try this scrub for yourself.

Burt’s Bees state on their website:-

“Rather than buy the synthetic alternative, willowbark extract is straight from the natural source. Yes, it costs more and is more difficult to manufacture, but it’s worth it because it’s natural and it works better with your skin.”

Other ingredients in this Burt’s Bees Peach and Willow Bark Deep Pore Scrub include Golden Seal extracts which, like willow bark has a natural astringent effect on your skin, plus extracts of sea algae and ginger which helps to nourish your skin with the essential minerals they contain.

How To Use Burt’s Bees Peach and Willow Bark Deep Pore Scrub

It couldn’t be simpler really, simply moisten your face with warm water and apply the product using either your fingertips or a clean wash cloth to gently massage it all over your face and neck. Top tip, to be sure that you do not experience any irritation, the first time you use the product just basically wash your face with it, don’t massage in too strongly – after the first use, gently build up to the level of exfoliation you need for your skin – just don’t be tempted to give your skin a really good scrub the first time you use it! As this enthusiastic reviewer reports:-

“Since using this (it’s been about 4 months now) my skin has become so much softer and I barely have any breakouts! It also smells wonderful! My one tip is to not scrub it into your skin that much, though, as doing so irritated my skin. Just use it as you would a regular wash, it “scrubs” your face enough when you wash it off.”

You need to take care to avoid getting the product into your eyes because of the exfoliating peach stone grains contained within it.

When you are done, just rinse your face really well with warm water and pat dry with a soft towel.

Follow the application of Burt’s Bees Peach and Willow Bark Deep Pore Scrub with a light moisturizer from the great Burt’s Bees selection!
